Who is a geriatric pet?
Geriatric pets are not just senior pets. We consider a dog "geriatric" when age-related complications such as advanced arthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia, sensory loss (blindness, deafness), or cognitive dysfunction require special handling and care to complete the grooming process safely and comfortably. These pets are often groomed lying down to maximize their comfort and minimize the effort the pet needs to expend. We also generally consider dogs geriatric when they reach age 14, as even those who do not outwardly present with age-related complications may still move slowly and require extra-gentle handling. |

Sometimes, elderly pets need to pause and a break to lie down and recharge at some point during the grooming process. These time estimates do not include any breaks your pet may need. We do not continue to charge the hourly rate during these down times. You'll be updated about your pet's progress during the service.
