Learning to be comfortable with grooming requires training, just like any aspect of a puppy's life. An in-depth understanding of how animals learn informs our behaviorist-approved step-wise puppy introductory program. We take pride in building a bond of trust between groomer, pet, and owner, ensuring that your new best friend will associate grooming with fun and relaxation, rather than fear and force! ​

The program is split into 4 weekly sessions. During each visit, your pet will gradually be positively conditioned to each aspect of the grooming process: handling, bathing, drying, brushing, combing, nail trimming and filing, and clipping/scissoring or hand-stripping. Puppies who are properly introduced to the grooming process learn to be comfortable with a wide range of environmental variables, so your pup can go home with a solid foundation of learning for further training and socialization. Often, puppies even become comfortable enough to fall asleep during the process. We offer the Pawlor Pup Program at an introductory rate of 20% off regular adult grooming costs.

When booking, please be prepared to book all 4 weekly sessions at once. At the end of the Pawlor Pup, your groomer will give you recommendations for your pet's grooming needs going forward- i.e, how often your pet should be groomed, and what kind of grooming equipment and products you should keep on hand at home to keep your pet comfortable between visits.
